1923 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Enrico Barosso 89, of 55 Hull Ave., died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded in the loving presence of his family.
He was born in Cheshire on Aug. 25, 1923, a son of the late Morris and Carlotta (Bianco) Barosso. He attended Cheshire schools.
He worked for the General Electric Co. for 43 years and retired from the former Power Transformer Dept. in 1986.
He had been a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was currently a communicant of St. Charles Church. He was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club and Pensioners Club, also the I.U.E. #254/255.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, growing flowers, traveling with family members and spending time with his family. Enrico was also blood donor.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Elizabeth Carnevale, whom he married on Jan. 8, 1949; one son, Thomas Barosso of Pittsfield; one daughter, Christine Barosso of Pittsfield; one sister, Virginia DeCarlo of Cheshire, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling Hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, will be Friday, July 5, 2013, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Charles Church Improvement Fund in Enrico's memory in care of the funeral home.
