Joseph Daigneault

1925 - 2013 ADAMS Joseph Daigneault, 87, of 134 Commercial St., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in North Adams on Sept. 26, 1925, a son of Josephat and Caroline (Scott) Daigneault. He attended schools in Adams. Mr. Daigneault was a veteran of World War II and served with the United States Marine Corps from 1942 until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Mr. Daigneault worked as a machinist for many years, retiring from General Electric Co., Pittsfield, in 1987. Earlier he had worked for the former Arnold Print Works and Berkshire Mills. He was a communicant of the Parish of Blessed John Paul. He was a woodworker and raised canarys and Boston Terriers. His wife, the former Jeanette Filiere, whom he married June 10, 1944, died July 18, 2013. He is survived by one son, Joseph Daigneault and his wife, Eleanor, of Adams; two daughters, Jane Theriault of West Springfield, and Janice Wilson and her husband, William Wilson, Jr., of Adams; five grandchildren, Todd and Keith Daigneault, and Daniel, Jonathan and Bethany Shears; six great-grandchildren, Jake, Casey, Emily and Mya Daigneault, and Hannah and Alayna Shears; a brother, Norman Daigneault of Adams; a sister, Doris Lussier of North Adams; his sister-in-law, Margaret LaBombard of North Adams and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond Daigneault and by a sister, Rita McLear. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
