1941 - 2013 CHESHIRE Harold Thomas Sweeney, 72, of 128 Willow Cove Road, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home, Pittsfield. He was born in Flushing, N.Y., on April 21, 1941,a son of the late Nelson and Florence (Hamel) Sweeney. He attended schools in New York. Mr. Sweeney was a self-employed businessman, having owned and operated several companies. He was a member of the Cheshire Rod & Gun Club, the Lenox Sportsman's Club and the Stamford Vermont Sportsman's Club. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed boating, camping, sailing, hunting, fishing and spending time at the ocean. He is survived by his longtime companion, Sandra L. Soule, with whom he made his home; one daughter, Suzanne Carrier and her husband Russell of Stamford, Vt.; two sons, Michael Sweeney and his wife, Paula, of Searsburg, Vt., and Brian Sweeney and his fiance, Melody, of Brattleboro, Vt.; a stepson, Kevin Soule of Cheshire; a stepdaughter, Laurie Millikan and her husband, Steve of Westfield; his former wife, Marlene Martin Sweeney of Readsboro, Vt.; four grandchildren, one great-grandson, six step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Sweeney. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Friday, Aug. 30, at 12 noon in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
