Robert E. Mastroianni
WILLIAMSTOWN Robert "Bob" E. Mastroianni, 74, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, in Williamstown. Bob was born in North Adams to Evelyn (Yuliano) and Angelo Mastroianni. He was educated in the North Adams public schools and graduated from North Adams State College, now the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, with a degree in elementary education. He taught in North Adams and spent the majority of his career as a 5th grade teacher in the Williamstown Elementary Schools. Prior to teaching, he served in the Army and was stationed in both Maryland and Alaska. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid gardener, and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Since his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease more than 20 years ago, he dealt with his illness with grace and good humor. He is survived by his sister, Bernadette M. Eastman of North Adams; his nephew, Gregg J. Eastman of North Adams; his nieces, Lori M. Eastman of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Renee L. Eastman; his grandniece and nephew, Emily P. Eastman and Elliott J. Eastman, all of North Adams, as well as many cousins, other family members, and friends. Bob was predeceased by his parents. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Sweet Brook Care Center for their support in his final years. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Robert Mastroianni will be Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sweetbrook Activities Fund or the Michael J.
