Joseph E. Riddle

1916-2913PITTSFIELD Mr. Joseph E. Riddle, 9,7 of 12 Shetland Dr., died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Providence Health Care Center in Lenox. Born in Pittsfield on July 28, 1916 he was the son of the late Adam and Agnes Fitzgerald Riddle. Joe was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph High School. He was the owner of the former Alert Janitorial Services. He will be remembered for his tremendous work ethics as well as his great sense of humor. He was the Quartermaster for the Interstatesmen Drum & Bugle Corp. for many years. Joe was a longtime communicant of St. Charles Church. His wife, the former Cecelia Olendrowicz, died in 1999. They were married Jan. 2, 1939 in St. Charles Church. He leaves a son, James Riddle and his partner Charity Brauchler of Roundtop, N.Y.; two daughters, Mary Lou Tierney (Edward) of Yarmouthport, Mass. and Linda Johnson (Arthur) of Pittsfield. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren as well as Eight Great-Great Grandchildren and six grand dogs. FUNERAL NOTICE: Mr. Joseph E. Riddle died Sept. 10, 2013. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept.13 at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
