Patricia Mary Urpeth Rilla

1921-2013 Mrs. Patricia Mary Urpeth Rilla, 91, of 146 Newell St. Pittsfield, MA died Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Providence Care Center. She was born in Exeter, County of Devon, England on December 4, 1921, daughter of Leonard and Marjorie (Grose) Urpeth. She attended schools in England and came to the United States and Pittsfield in 1946 as a war bride. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Pat enjoyed knitting, baking and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was the widow of Hugo J. Rilla who died on August 31, 1996. They were married on September 15, 1945. Survivors include two sons- Paul L. Rilla of Amherst, MA and Alan J. Rilla of Boston, MA. One daughter- Anne E. Carman of Monson, MA. She also leaves four grandchildren including Megan Hiltabidle, Cate Rilla, Amanda P. Rilla and Jacob A. Carman; and two great grandchildren; two sisters including Sheila V. Purrot of Wexham, England and M. Jean Devonshire of Kingsbridge, England and nieces and nephews. Her sister, Molly M. West is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Patricia Rilla will be held Friday September 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday morning from 10-11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mass.
