Ellen Ann (Dickinson) DePaoli

1928-2013 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Ellen Ann (Dickinson) DePaoli, 84, of 409 Walker St., North Adams, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at her home. She was born in North Adams on Nov. 11, 1928, the daughter of Alfred R. and Florence (Dubie) Dickinson. Ellen attended Drury High School. She was employed by Sprague Electric and Mountainview before working as Drury's cafeteria manager until her retirement. She also served in many of the area schools over the years. She was the widow of Olympio J. DePaoli, who died on May 8, 1999. They were married on June 19, 1947, and enjoyed many years of traveling, bowling and playing cards, especially at their camp in Windsor. Ellen lived an active life and loved walking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and memorably, maintaining her lawn. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Rosary Society. Ellen's survivors include four daughters and a son; Susan Sucharzewski of Concord, N.C., and her husband, Leon, Janice Buck of North Adams and her husband Alfred, Lynn Perotti of Pittsfield, Marie Allard of North Adams and James DePaoli of North Adams. She had eight grandchildren and four great -grandchildren, Amy Zambotti and her daughters Kacie and Kaitlin, Gina Meyers, her husband John and their children, Mia and Owen, Jennifer Mills and her husband Gerald, Allison Billard, John Perotti and his wife Gretchen , April Perotti, Peter Allard and Nicole Allard. She also leaves two brothers, Alfred "Bud" Dickinson and his wife Elizabeth of North Adams and David Dickinson and his wife Arlene of North Adams. She also had many nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by four brothers, Louis, Edmund, Francis and Bobby. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Ellen DePaoli will be Thursday September 26, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, Mass. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the or the Berkshire Food Project in care of the funeral home.
