David F. LaDouceur

1954-2013 David F. LaDouceur, 58, of 29 Toronita Avenue, Pittsfield, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center, after a brief illness. David was born in Pittsfield on October 6, 1954, to the late Horace J. LaDouceur, Sr., and Nellie M. Piskorski LaDouceur. He attended Pittsfield schools, graduating from Taconic High School in 1972. He received an Associates Degree from Berkshire Community College in 1974. He then attended Boston University and later received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from MCLA in 1989. In his earlier years, he worked in the asbestos removal industry. Following that he worked at Eaton Paper Co. for eleven years until their closing. David then worked for Starbase Technologies, Inc., in Pittsfield, from the early '90s until 2003 when ill health forced him to leave. David was a member of the Pittsfield Elks Club Lodge #272 for many years, and was a former Exalted Ruler. He had a passionate interest in politics and was always ready for a heated discussion. He was an avid life-long Boston Red Sox, Celtics, and Dallas Cowboys fan. In recent years, David participated in multiple fantasy football leagues. He is survived by his brother, Horace J. (Buz) LaDouceur, Jr., and his partner Stacey Page, of Pittsfield; and his sister, Sharon E. Hanson, and her husband, Jeffrey K. Hanson, of Pittsfield; his three nephews, J. Kyron and Jonathan Hanson of Pittsfield; and Dr. Jarrod Hanson, his wife, Valerie, and daughter, Emilia, of West Covina, Calif.; his great nephews, Gabriel and Miles Erwin, of Austin, Tex.; and his close friend and cousin, Craig F. Passe, of Pittsfield. David's family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff of the ICU at Berkshire Medial Center for the diligent, compassionate care they provided David. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of David's life will be held next spring at the convenience of his family. Burial, at that time, will be in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
