Louis Chrzanowski Obituary
Louis Chrzanowski Sr.

1927-2013 Louis Chrzanowski, Sr., 86, of Pittsfield, passed away at his home, on October 1, 2013, with his family at his side. Born September 28, 1927, son of Antoni and Mary Kot Chrzanowski, he was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. A World War II veteran, he enlisted with the United States Army on September 27, 1946, serving a year overseas as a Platoon Guide with Troop A, 7th Calvary. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1948. Mr. Chrzanowski was a self-employed painter and paper hanger, retiring in 1990 after forty years in the trade. His wife, the former Joyce S. Chaslon, whom he wed on April 14, 1952, died March 19, 2005. Mr. Chrzanowski is survived by his two sons, Louis Chrzanowski, Jr., of Great Barrington and Stephen A. Chrzanowski, of Pittsfield; and two daughters, Linda S. Mahoney, of Boca Raton, FL and Laura C. Bowler, and her husband, David, of Pittsfield. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Erin L. Inga and Maureen C. Hines, both of Florida, Helyn E. Mahoney, of Chicago, IL; David Louis Bowler, Carolyn L. Bowler, Derek T. Bowler and Hannah M. Chrzanowski, all of Pittsfield; and his great children, Izabella, Lukis, Saige and Keegan. Mr. Chrzanowski is also survived by his sister, Helen Kozack, and his brother, Simon Chrzanowski. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry, Herman and Andrew, and by his granddaughter, Leigh C. Mahoney. Our family would like to thank Home Instead and Hospice Care in the Berkshires for providing our family, especially our Dad, wonderful and caring guidance, support and dignity during our difficult time. FUNERAL NOTICE: To honor Lou's wishes, there are no calling hours and burial is to be private. Dery Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
