Edward F. Kordana
1933-2013 Edward F. Kordana, 80, formerly of 184 Cheshire Road, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Springside of Pittsfield. Born in Adams on September 22, 1933, a son of John and Helen Petrovicz Kordana, he attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Kordana was employed by General Electric Company where he was a draftsman. He retired in 1993 with more than 40 years service. He coached baseball, softball, and basketball. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and ice fishing. Mr. Kordana's wife, the former Frances Lipinski, pre-deceased him. He is survived by four sons, Mark E. Kordana and his wife, Margaret, of Pittsfield, David W. Kordana and his significant other, Steven Midura, of Tierraverde, Florida, Edward A. Kordana of Pittsfield, and Christopher J. Kordana of Pittsfield; a daughter, Susan F. Olivieri, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two sisters, Helen Doucette and Bernice Murphy, both of Pittsfield; and six grandchildren, Kimberly, Eric, Everett, Quinn, Anthony, and Joseph. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Kordana. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Edward F. Kordana are private. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
