Rev. Donald C. Vincent

Reverend Donald C. Vincent, age 87, passed away on November 21, 2013 in Pennsylvania. For more than 30 years, Don ministered to nursing home residents in Berkshire County, conducting full church services and visiting with them. Many of these shut-ins considered him their Pastor. He passionately persisted in visiting multiple nursing homes on a weekly schedule, until his failing health made it impossible for him to continue. Don was also devoted to mentoring boys through both Boy Scouting and Royal Rangers. A Silver Beaver recipient, he was active in Boy Scouting for over 75 years, serving as District Commissioner in the 1960's, District Chaplain for the past 20 years, and on Eagle Scout Boards of Review. He also served Royal Rangers Outpost 39 as chaplain and a Gold Medal reviewer. He was the Volunteer Fire Chief in Savoy, Mass. in the early 1960's and maintained a close relationship with many of the people in that community. His hobbies included sailing, stamp collecting and photography. Rev. Vincent was a member of the Christian Assembly Church, The Assemblies of God in Pittsfield, Mass. for 33 years. In addition to the Nursing Home Ministry, he served the church in many capacities including Men's Ministry, Full Gospel Businessmen, Prison Ministry, Sound and Recording, and Sunday School. Rev. Vincent was pre-deceased by his daughter, Stephanie Vincent and his sister, Helen Koehlinger. He is survived by his children , T'amara L. Ilg (John), Keith K. Vincent (Debbie) and D. Christopher Vincent (Cindie); his sisters , Annette Spitz and Marion Ellis; five grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Jonathan, Sarah, and Kevin and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nicolai, Aaron and Silas. A celebration of Rev. Vincent's life and memorial service will be scheduled in Pittsfield at a later date.
