John "Jack" J. Brunton

1941-2013 John "Jack" J. Brunton, 72, of the Hungry Hill Section, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife holding his hand on Sat. Dec 21, 2013. He was born July 2, 1941 to the late Thomas and Grace Brunton. Jack was a graduate of Springfield Trade High School. He served in the US Army Reserves. Jack was a member of the former Our Lady of Hope, Celtic Athletic Assn., John Boyle O'Rielly, Tigers Club in Chicopee, Springfield Redevelopment Authority and the I.B.E.W. Local #7 for over 42 years. He enjoyed his winters in Florida and his summers at the Cape. Most of all, he enjoyed anything that had to do with his grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Marion (Joyal), Jack leaves his sons Daniel and his wife Michelle of Spfld., John also of Spfld., his daughter Kimberly Auger of Wilbraham., his daughter-in-law Kathy Orcutt of Holyoke, his grandchildren; Ashley Auger, Jon Brunton, Ryan Auger, Alexa Brunton, Shannon Auger, EllaGrace Brunton and Abby Brunton, his two brothers Rev. Daniel Brunton of W. Spfld., and Raymond Brunton of Spfld., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers William and Thomas and sister Winifred Brunton. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Mass will be held SATURDAY 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Spfld. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held FRIDAY from 4 to 7 PM at the SAMPSONS CHAPEL OF THE ACRES FUNERAL HOME, 21 TINKHAM RD. SPFLD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the .
