William E. Roosa Jr.

1944-2013 William E. Roosa, Jr., 69, of East Dugway Road, Lenox, died Tuesday, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Sumter, SC on February 15, 1944, the son of William and Doris Bradway Roosa, Sr. He was educated in the Lee Schools and was a 1962 graduate of Lee High School. After graduation, Bill worked at the former Lenox Machine Co. in Lenox Dale. He served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1966 until being discharged in June 1968 with the rank of Sergeant. Following the service, Bill returned to Lenox Machine where he worked until retiring in 2000 from the then Beloit Manufacturing. Bill was an avid bowler and worked part time at the Lee Lanes from 1997 until its closing in 2009, where he coached the Sun Rise Junior League, the girls traveling team and handicap bowling league. He enjoyed wood working, making items for his family, taking care of his lawn, and gardening. Bill leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth A. Munsinger, whom he married April 13, 1974, one son; Charles W. Roosa of Stephentown, NY, two daughters; Laura J. Stiles and her husband, Alan, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Jessica M. Wilson and her partner, Christopher Gilbert, of Lenox, two brothers; Ralph Roosa and his wife, Diane, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Richard Roosa of Becket; four sisters, Doris Sour and her husband, Arnie, of Peru, Nancy Gleason and her husband, Larry, of Lee, Kathleen Hoctor and her husband, Richard, of Lee and Winifred Roosa of Virginia. He also leaves his nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-n-law, Leo C. Wilson, Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11am at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA, with Brother Raymond Pixley of the Lee Congregations of Jevohah's Witnesses, officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. Visiting hours at the Kelly Funeral Home will be Monday, December 30, from 2-4 and 6-9.
