Winifred A. Lahue
1926 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Winifred A. Hayward Lahue, 87, formerly of Side-by-Side of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home. She was born in Morgan, Vt., on June 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Myrtle J. Vail Hayward. She was educated in Morgan, Vt. schools and received her high school diploma, at age 62, from the Adult Learning Center in Pittsfield. Mrs. Lahue had first been employed as a factory worker for many years at Greylock Plastics. Later, she worked in the food court at Hills Department Store and finally, in the food court at the Ames Department Store; she retired in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, her family, dogs and cats, and collecting Rockwell plates and other collectibles. Mrs. Lahue married Lawrence D. Lahue on Nov. 16, 1946. He died on July 27, 2006. Mrs. Lahue is survived by her sister, Effiegene Greenwood, of Quebec, Canada; a son, David Lahue and his wife, Jean, of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; a daughter, Carole Lahue of Cheshire; four grandchildren, David Garrand of Hudson Falls, N.Y., Todd Leland and his wife, Misty, of North Carolina, Erica Reu and her husband, Brian, of Pittsfield, and Steven Crittendon and his wife, Carol, of North Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Reu and Patrick Reu, of Pittsfield, Amelia Crittendon, Madeline Leland and Luke Leland, of North Carolina. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Winifred A. Hayward Lahue will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the Spring at New Derby Center Cemetery, Derby, Vermont. The DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA is in charge of arrangements.
