Claire Cote Obituary
Claire L. Cote

Claire L. Cote, 84 of Pittsfield, died Saturday March 1, 2014 at home. She was born in Pittsfield, the youngest daughter of Edward and Josephine Dondi. She lived her life in Pittsfield, graduated from Pittsfield High School, and had been a communicant of the former St. Teresa's Church. In her youth she met her lifetime love, Oliver Cote, and married him in 1950. She was his devoted partner until his death in 1993. Claire spent her life nurturing and guiding and teaching and loving the four children she and Oliver raised. She was treasured and profoundly loved by her son William Cote and his wife Donna, by her son Mark Cote and his wife Amy, by her daughter Susan Tourjee and her husband Michael, and by her daughter Cheryl Albert and her husband Ronald. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Philip, Adam and his wife Marissa, Michael, David, Kevin, and Jillian and was very proud of their individual accomplishments. Her relationships with her sisters Gloria Oppidi who died in 2009, and Olga Kitterman of Pittsfield brought her great joy. Claire was always so generous with her love and her wisdom and all her family members and her friends were blessed by her presence in their lives. Claire's engaging smile, the sound of her laughter, and her witty sense of humor will be sorely missed by those who were privileged to have known and loved her.
