He was born on Feb. 21, 1957, in Pittsfield to Richard and Anita Borgnis. He was a class of 1975 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, and a graduate of Springfield Technical Community College, receiving a degree in chemical engineering. He was also the President and co-owner of Borgnis & Son in Lee, along with his sister, Rose. Peter was a pillar in his community. He volunteered for many years as the baseball coach and sponsor of Galusha and Babe Ruth baseball teams, was involved with the town of Washington's Finance Committee, was a member of the Lenox Lion's Club for many years, and made many donations to various charitable organizations. His passion in life was his family and friends, and his greatest joys were in being active in his children's lives and acting as a role model to all who met him. He is survived by his loving wife Maureen, to whom he was married for 29 years; his three children, Thomas Richard, Peter Edward, and Catherine Elizabeth; his sisters, Gail Puntin and her husband, Tim, of Lee, and Rose Borgnis and her husband, Michael, of Washington; traveling partners, Cyndie and Scott Richards of Asheville, N.C.; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and countless loving friends, family, and employees.
