Gloria M. Vittone

1921-2014 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Gloria M. Vittone, 92, of 358 Dalton Ave. passed away Monday April 14, 2014 at home. Born in Pittsfield on December 21, 1921 the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Lavazza Giordano, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Vittone worked for General Electric for eight years and then for Yankee Motor Lodge for 12 years, retiring as Head Housekeeper in 1992. She was a communicant of the former St. Mary the Morning Star Church where she was a member of the Family Society. She had also been a member of the former Women's Club of Pittsfield and volunteered at the former Coltsville Community Center. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, John P. Vittone, whom she married on June 14, 1947, he died on December 26, 1995. She leaves two sons, John P. Vittone Jr. of Mustang, Okla., and Jeffrey M. Vittone of Spring Hill, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Domenichini; two grand daughters, Jennifer Vittone of Bennington, Vt., and Giovanna Vittone of Spring Hill, Fla.; a grandson, Nicholas Vittone of Rutland, Vt., and two great grandsons. She is predeased by two sisters, Mrs. Delphine Manzolini and Mrs. Dorothy Pytko, a brother, Bruno Giordano and a son, Mark J. Vittone who died on September 12, 1962, he was 8 years old. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria M. Vittone will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael C. Lillpopp, Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will precede the funeral Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Church, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
