Nadia "Nellie" Charron

1919-2014 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Nadia "Nellie" Rita Albertazzi Krol Charron, 94, of 30 Rand St., another angel has been called home from Hillcrest Commons on Tuesday April 29, 2014. She was born in the Farnams section of Cheshire on September 9, 1919, daughter of Domenico and Annunziata Bianchi Albertazzi. She attended schools in Cheshire and the Adams High School. Nellie was first employed at General Electric Co. during World War II. She was last employed at Sprague Electric Co. for over 30 years until her retirement in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Nellie enjoyed reading, sewing and stamp collecting. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nellie was a lifelong Boston Red Sox baseball fan and followed the games regularly. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy J. Hall of Pittsfield and Karen Lindsey of the state of Florida; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; her wonderful former son-in-law, Ted Carlson, of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Robert Lindsey; four sisters, Chesela Magi, Elizabeth Bongini, Gina Simpson, Alda Roy; and two brothers, Biagio Albertazzi, and Reno Albertazzi, who was killed in action in World War II. Brother-in-law, Norman J. Roy, died April 30, 2014 Nellie's family would like to give many thanks to the staff at Unit 5 at Hillcrest Commons and HospiceCare of the Berkshires for their wonderful and compassionate care. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Nellie Charron will be celebrated Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
