Lillian "Lil" Carusotto

1928-2014 PITTSFIELD Lillian "Lil" Theresa Carusotto, 85, of 31 Crown Street, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in North Adams on October 28, 1928, the daughter of Anthony and Emma Solomon Ziter, she was educated in North Adams schools and attended Drury High School. Mrs. Carusotto was a homemaker. Lil had, at one time, worked at Emily's Snack Bar and also at the A & P Supermarket. She was a communicant of St. Charles Church and had been a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies, cakes, cookies, and muffins, as well as going to the casinos. Her greatest love were her children and grandchildren. Lil leaves her husband, Angelo C. "Pro" Carusotto, whom she married July 4, 1951. Mrs. Carusotto is also survived by a daughter, Jane M. Virgilio and her husband, Del "Skip" Virgilio, of Pittsfield; a son, Joseph A. Carusotto, of Pittsfield; a brother, Louis Ziter, of North Adams; her two beloved grandchildren, Shanda Marie, who was her loving and caring caregiver, and Rena Del; as well as her loving son-at-heart, Kenneth R. French. She was pre-deceased by two brothers and six sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lillian "Lil" Theresa Carusotto will be held Saturday, May 3, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
