Sincere sympathy to the family. Remembering long ago cruising together to the Caribbean.(1984) John had a video recorder - so large - not like today. Everyone thought he was a TV man. We got into the hotels and beaches, all following "big John". He was a lot of fun, and hope the memories of all the years help at this difficult time.

To the Skumin family: John was a friend and co-worker of my dad. I wanted you to know that John's enthusiastic gesture to take our family snowmobiling every winter when I was very young left fabulous memories and a lasting impression on me. Now as an adult I reflect and see it as a thoughtful and kind deed from a very generous man. Thank you, Mr. Skumin, for taking us on those great rides around Mount Greylock!

“Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people–they always go away sooner or later. You can't hold them anymore than you can hold moonlight. But if they've touched you, if they're inside you, then they're still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.”

We will miss you Dad
