Helen Hayes

PITTSFIELD Helen Hayes, 60, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 16, 2014, after a battle with cancer. She had recently relocated to Pittsburgh, Pa., to help raise her beautiful grandchildren. She was a dedicated and loving mother, "Nana," teacher, and friend. She will be missed by all. She leaves her daughters, Jamie (DeAngelis) Glatzhofer, of Pittsburgh, and Stacy DeAngelis, of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Anabel and Lea; three brothers, Charles Hayes of Atlanta, Ga., Patrick Hayes of Dennisport, and Kevin Hayes of Hanover; two sisters, Margaret Campbell of Braintree, and Theresa Doyle of Rockland, and her former husband, James DeAngelis, of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by three siblings, Jane Joubert, David Hayes, and Bernard Hayes. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19, at McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, from 10 to 12. One of Helen's passions was helping America's veterans. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust.
