John Prescott Vint

1919 - 2014 PITTSFIELD John Prescott Vint, formerly of London, England passed peacefully on July 15, 2014, at 6:31 p.m. in his home. John was born on Nov. 3, 1919, and was the son of Albert Edward Vint and Winifred Kate (Wilkerson) Vint. John married Catherine E. Donna of Pittsfield in 1945 at Wimbledon and resided in New York City before moving to Bloomington, Ind. John's career was in book publishing, first with Prentice-Hall, then Henry Holt, The Viking Press, and E. P. Dutton, and IU Press. He was predeceased by his wife in 1995 and by a sister, Winifred Wilkinson Vint, in 1918. He is survived by three sons, Peter and former wife, Rita, and their children, Peter, Colin and Mei-Li; Roger and former wife, Terry, and their children, Joseph and Lisa; and John Derek and his wife, Kim. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial visitation will be held on July 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the ALLEN FUNERAL HOME, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, Ind.
