Eugene Hand Obituary
1956 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Eugene R. "Butch" Hand, 57, of Georgia, formerly of Pittsfield, died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, in Georgia, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 23, 1956, son of Jane E. Daniels Hand the late Raymond E. Hand, Jr., he was a 1975 graduate of Taconic High School. Mr. Hand was a mechanic and a welder by trade. He enjoyed motorcycles, his boat, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Hand is survived by his mother of Pittsfield; three sisters, Cynthia Hand of Pittsfield, Kathleen Hardy and her husband, Ken, of Pittsfield, and Dawn Ball and her husband, Charlie, of Pittsfield; his daughters, Chandra (Hand) Cunningham of Georgia, Gina Hand of Housatonic, Chelsea Hand of Pittsfield, and Kasey-Lee Maggs of Georgia; four grandchildren, Kyle Hand, Cameron Cunningham, Jake "Jakey" Stevens, and Ayden Lomeli; as well as three nieces, April Fleming-Hand and her wife, Leeann, Angel Maloney and her husband, James, and Danielle Shaw and her husband, Patrick; a nephew, Jameail Hand; four great nieces, Arysa and Audrina Maloney, and Kaydance and Raylene Shaw; four great-nephews, Bryan Sheppard, Landon Maloney, Jean Gingras, and Matt Gingras and his sons, Shane and Riley; his close aunt and uncle, Mary and David Adams, and cousin, Brenda Adams; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Diane Whitehill and her children, Leah (and her husband Kevin) and Carissa (and her husband Daniel); his former wives, Carol "Magoo" Litalia and Karen Kitts; and close friends, Nadean, Earl, and Dennis. He was predeceased by a niece, Carey Hand, and his godmother, Betty Daniels Petell. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Eugene R. "Butch" Hand will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Assistant Rector, officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon, New York. There are no calling hours. The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

Hey Butch,
I thought I had written on your memory wall, but I must not have. I know you are missed deeply by your family and I am sorry that they have had to feel the loss of such a wonderful brother, uncle, dad, grandpa, and friend. I like so many others, have wonderful childhood memories of you and your sisters and will always think of all of you as family. Rest in peace old friend and know that the world has lost a very good soul when God decided to call you home.

R.I.P. uncle Butch ...I will always hold on to all the childhood memories I have from you... Catskill game farm, u letting me drive the boat n I ended up going in circles !! And let's not forget tubing!! My childhood was great ty for being a part of all of my happiest memories!
