Floyd P. Lowry II

1940 - 2015 WILLIAMSTOWN Floyd P. Lowry II (also known as Sonny or Pete) was born on Clover Hill Farm in Williamstown, MA on November 25, 1940. He graduated from Williamstown High School in 1958 and North Adams State College (now MCLA) in 1970. He had a lifelong appreciation for learning, the natural environment and carpentry and enjoyed the company of family, friends and his dogs. He was a unique and unforgettable person with an inviting laugh and smiling eyes. He was a very talented builder, having built wooden boats as well as designing and building solar earth homes in north Georgia. He died peacefully at home outside of Atlanta, GA on October 30, 2015. He leaves two sons and a daughter, Joshua Lowry of Clarkston, GA, with whom he made his home, Timothy Lowry and wife, Soraya, of West Seattle, WA and their sons, Liam and Milo. He is also survived by his daughter, Kathryn Lowry of WA State, one older brother, Thomas, predeceased him in 2013. Surviving family also include brother, David Lowry of Newton, MA, sister, Anne Grande of SC, two cousins, Verne Rosenburg of Williamstown and Gordon Livingston of MD and as well as many nieces and nephews and life-long friend, Eleanor Ostrander (Nonie) also of Williamstown. Friends include his special long time Georgia friends, Jivka and Peter Yanakieva and their son, Peter as well as his Wanderers' community. Ashes will be interred at East Lawn Cemetery in Williamstown, in the summer of 2016.
