PITTSFIELD -- Olive Mary Canino, 82, of 54 April Lane died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 14, 1924, daughter of George and Olive Beaupre O'Brien, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Canino was employed by the former Bradlees department store from 1965 to February 1989, retiring as manager of the jewelry department.
Before that, she was employed as a product control inspector at the former Sprague Electric Co.
She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo.
Her former husband, John A. Canino Sr., whom she married Aug. 22, 1943, died in 1994.
She leaves two sons, John A. Canino Jr. of Pittsfield and James M. Canino of North Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Sandra M. McGovern and Tina M. Canino, both of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

for Olive Mary Canino, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, will be tomorrow, Sept. 15, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with
a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church
celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow
in Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Canino may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She was the beloved grandmother "Nonnie" to Matthew, Gina, Brian, Andrew, Nicholas, Carrie Ann, John, Jacquie, Jay and Jillian, and beloved great-grandmother "Nonnie" to Timothy, Samuel, John John, Brendan, Cameron and Aryanna. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
