REMUS -- Lena Jane Walch passed away peacefully on Sept. 6. 

Lena was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Lincoln Park, to Andrew and Eva Chesney. She married Edward A. Walch on June 12, 1942, and moved to Remus in 1955. Lena had several jobs, but loved cooking for the kids and staff of Chippewa Hills Weidman School as head cook until retiring in 1986. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, square dancing and being part of several social organizations. She also loved listening to Bob Seger and playing Bingo. Lena was a member of the Remus Methodist Church for several years.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters; her husband, Edward Walch, Sr.; son, Edward Walch, Jr.; and daughter, Sandra Bartholomew. 

Lena is survived by her daughters, Bonnie and husband Terry Wernette, of Remus, and Paula and husband Steven Beilfuss, of Big Rapids; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great -great-grandchildren. 

Internment will be at Wambold Cemetery in Remus. Memorial services are pending. Memorial contributions may be made in Lena's name to Spectrum Health Hospice of Big Rapids.
