Alicia M. Paredez, 75, of Big Spring, died Monday, May 11, 2015, at her residence. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park. |
Alicia was born March 15, 1940 in Big Spring, Texas to Refugia (Torres) and Julian Moncada. She married Esequio Paredez on Jan. 2, 1960 in Big Spring. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and loved gardening and yard work. Her favorite hobby was Bingo and going gambling. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Esequio "Chickie" Paredez of Big Spring; three daughters, Mary Ann Iturralde and husband Manuel, Jo Jo Paredez and her partner, Alma Gusman, and Rachel Martinez and husband Jason, all of Big Spring; one sister, Aurelia Garcia and husband Ricardo of Alice; seven grandchildren, Vanessa King of Midland, Mark Iturralde, Nick Iturralde, Derek Jae Gusman, Jonathan Cervantes, Matthew DoPorto and Christian K. Martinez, all of Big Spring; four great grandchildren, Aydin King, Kyra King, Ryker King and Rylee King, all of Midland; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Paredez; three brothers; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mark Iturralde, Nick Iturralde, Mathew DoPorto, Derek Jae Gusman, Albert Rodriguez and Peter Carrillo. Honorary pallbearers will be Aydin King, Christian Martinez, Joe Martinez, Frank Martinez, Gilbert Martinez and Jonathan Cervantes.
