Our sister, our aunt and our friend, Carijo "C.J." Thixton, 73, of Big Spring, went to be with her parents, Cecil and Ora McDaniel Thixton and her twin sister, Marijo Walker, Thursday, March 5, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.|
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
C.J. was born June 25, 1941 in Big Spring and married Robert Evans. He preceded her in death.
She was a kind and loving soul who always thought about others. She loved all dogs but especially her Buster. Family was everything to her and holidays were extra special. She was the "Queen of Scalloped Potatoes." C.J. was involved in many functions at Canterbury where she lived for more than 20 years. She loved playing Bingo and Skipbo and participating in Special Olympics.
She is survived by three sisters, Rose Teeler of Big Spring, Linda McKnight and husband, Tom of Jonestown and Tammey Johnson and husband, Jr. of Summerville, S.C.; one brother, Garner Thixton and wife, Eunice of Big Spring; one brother-in-law, Howard Walker of Big Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Big Spring Humane Society, P.O. Box 823, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0823.
