Graveside services will be at the Coahoma Cemetery, Coahoma, Texas on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11 am. There will be visitation at Sanders Funeral Home April 5, 2016 6-7:30 pm.
Charlene was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 30, 1932 to Verbie Frizzell Potts and Elmer Potts, who preceded her in death.
On Easter Sunday, April 21, 1957, Charlene married the love of her life Henry Samuel Hicks of Coahoma, Texas. They had 58 wonderful years together.
Mrs. Hicks began her 31 years teaching career in Home Economics at the high school in Dimmitt, Texas ISD; followed by High School Childhood. In Seminole, Texas she taught High School Early Childhood. In Kermit, Texas, Charlene taught Elementary Early Children.
She leaves behind her husband Henry; four daughters: Lena Rene Warren, Loretta Sellers, Tamsey Johnson, and Angie Mims, three granddaughters, one sister, four nieces, numerous cousins and many friends.
The family requests memorials sent to SLE Lupus Foundation in Lubbock, Texas.
