D Ball Jr. Obituary
D Ball Jr., 84 of Sand Springs, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco.
He was born June 23, 1931, in Cisco, Texas to Elizabeth and D Ball. He married Anita Pingree Jan. 5, 1962, in Cisco. They came to Big Spring in 1965 from Snyder. She preceded him in death June 14, 2005. Mr. Ball was a veteran, serving in the Air Force. He received his master's degree from North Texas State University. He taught CVAE at Runnels Junior High.
He loved woodworking, welding, weapons and repairing anything. He was also an inventor. He loved reading, especially Louis Lamour, and also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by one son, Wayne Ball of Sand Springs; one daughter, Terri Telchik and her husband, Lance, of Big Spring; one sister, Mary Black and her husband, Ealy, of Cisco; and two grandchildren, Aaron Trace Telchik and Adriana Jade Telchik.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Ball.
