Dora Hernandez, 94, of San Antonio, formerly of Big Spring died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, in San Antonio. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Mike Aguilar, her son, officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.|
Dora lived in Big Spring for many years and was well known and respected by everyone that knew her. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness congregation.
Dora was born May 20, 1920, to Rosendo and Nicolasa Morelion. Dora had 10 children.
She is survived by seven of her children, Patsy Cavazos of Big Spring, Texas, Gloria Hernandez of San Antonio Texas, Jose Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Ismael Hernandez of Australia, Fernando Hernandez of North Carolina, Miguel Aguilar of South Carolina and Pete Aguilar of Big Spring, Texas. She also has one surviving sister, Maria Mendoza of California.
Dora leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 46-great-great grandchildren whom loved and will miss her very much. Dora also had an abundance of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosendo Morelion and Nicolasa Morelion; two brothers, Jose Rosendo Morelion and Juan Antonio Morelion; one sister, Ciria Esquivel; and three sons, Francisco Vasquez Sr., Domingo Vasquez Sr. and Guadalupe Vasquez.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Paul Talamantez Jr., Jose Luis Aguilar, Caleb Hernandez, Frank Vasquez, Jr., Henry Vasquez and Robert Hernandez.
