Funeral services for Edward Nyle Billingsley, 79, of Lamesa will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Church of Christ in Lamesa with Mark Hackett officiating. Private interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.|
Ed passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 18, 1936 in Lamesa. He married Nancy Goolsby Jan. 1, 1961. They were marred 54 years. Ed served in the United States Army. He ranched in Tom Green County and farmed in Dawson, Martin, Howard, Borden and Terry Counties.
He donated, contributed to and worked for 4-H and Future Farmers of America for many years. He served on the board of Co-Op Gin in Ackerly and on the school board for Sands Independent School District. He was a deacon at Church of Christ in Wellman.
Ed is survived by his wife, Nancy Billingsley of Lamesa; Jannelle Long and husband, David of Lubbock, and Leigh Ann Fry and husband, Randy of Abilene; sister, Madge Mickelson of San Angelo; brother, Robert Billingsley and wife, Freda of Fredricksburg; grandchildren, Heather Moxley and husband, Dale of Midland, Zachary Long and wife, Shelbi of Lubbock, Jarrod Fry and wife, Angela of Abilene, and Seth Fry of Abilene; great-grandchildren, Clara Moxley, Leah Moxley, and Kenleigh Fry.
He is preceded in death by his son, Russell Billingsley; parents; and brothers, James Lee Billingsley, and Larry Bee Billingsley.
