Erma Jean Rutledge, 77, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at Mount Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Michael D. Smith and Pastor Holston Banks, officiants. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.|
Erma was born on April 16, 1938 to Alver Henderson (Woods) and Welton Woods in Oakwood, Texas. She came to Big Spring from Oakwood in 1941. She married Roosevelt Rutledge on Dec. 27, 1963 in Big Spring, Texas. She worked at Big Spring State Hospital and retired in 2002 due to ill health. She loved watching all sports. She was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra Woods, Mitzi Fisher and Rochelle Rutledge, all of Big Spring; two sisters, Cyneather Woodruff of Big Spring and Minnie O. Bridgers and husband, George of Durham, N.C.; three grandchildren, Courtney Rutledge, Aric Rutledge and Jacorion Milcendeau; one great granddaughter, CarNesha Rutledge; seven nieces and nephews, Nicole Woodruff, Laura Johnson, Brittany Johnson, McKenzie Woodruff, Briana Pierre, Vic Woodruff and Jason Woodruff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roosevelt Rutledge, and son, Ronnie Sinclair Rutledge.
