Franklin P. Earley Jr., 72, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Park with Doug Shelley, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, officiating.|
Franklin was born Feb. 27, 1943 to Illa Dixon Morgan (Earley) and Franklin Earley Sr., in Big Spring, Texas. He served in the United States Army from Dec. 15, 1965 until Dec. 14, 1967. He worked for ABC Network in Hollywood, Calif. as an audio engineer and manager. He retired and returned to Big Spring in 2000. He was an electronics bug, loving all kinds of electronics and anything technical. Franklin also enjoyed eating out.
Franklin is survived by one daughter, Brighton Earley of Berkley, Calif.; his aunt and uncle, Jean and Jimmie Jennings of Midland; cousins, Donna Flud of Midland, Ben Dixon of Big Spring, Josh Messenger of Weatherford, and Roger Dixon of Weatherford. He is also survived by his close friend, Jeff Fields of New Mexico, and Merle Spurlock of Big Spring.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents.
