Fred Hendrickson, 68, of Big Spring died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center in McKinney. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Jess Colgrove and Joey Bacon, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.|
He was born Aug. 31, 1946, in New York, N.Y. and grew up at Hicksville, Long Island, N.Y. He came to Big Spring in 1963, while stationed at Webb Air Force Base. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He worked at Sid Richardson Carbon for 28 years, retiring in 2007. They called him Mr. Goodwrench at work. He loved trains and computers, but most of all he loved his family and grandkids. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda of Big Spring; one daughter, Heather Sanderson and her husband Brian of Austin; one son,Heath Hendrickson and his wife Melissa of McKinney; and three grandchildren, Caden Sanderson, Madeline Sanderson and Sydney Hendrickson.
