Homer L. Conner, 93, of Big Spring, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.|
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Homer was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Breckenridge, Texas and married Joyce Box Oct. 4, 1941, in Los Angeles, Calif. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 2008.
He was a civil engineer working for several places, including Webb Air Force Base. He was most proud of his family and his Masonic service of 63 years. He was also an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
Homer is survived two sons, Lesley Conner and wife, Phyllis of Payson, Ariz., and Mike Conner and wife, Brenda of Big Spring; two daughters, Sandra Pegan and husband, Peter of Big Spring, and Teresa Standefer of Midland; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Homer was preceded in death by one son, Robert Conner; his parents, Emery Allen and Cassie (Lambert) Conner; and one brother, Allen Howard Conner.
