John Cramer Obituary
John Cramer, 85, of Temple, formerly of Big Spring, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home. He will lie in state Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, from 9 a.m. until noon at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

He was born April 14, 1929, in Muskegon, Mich. to Magdalene (Dressen) and John M. Cramer. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He retired as a master sergeant after 22 years of service from Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. After retirement, he enjoyed making crafts and selling them at various arts and craft festivals around Texas.

He is survived by one son, Alan Cramer of Beaumont; one daughter, Sue Ann Benson of Austin; one brother and two sisters; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Cramer; and one son, Mike Cramer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to organizations that promote smoking cessation.
