John Hernandez Obituary
John Hernandez was born on Oct. 13, 1968 in Big Spring, Texas. John passed away on Feb. 4, 2016 in Tomball, Texas.
John was predeceased by his mother Herminia Diaz, sisters Esther Hernandez and Lisa Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Luisa Pizana-Hernandez; children Sonia, Sara, and Jonathan; Father Juan Hernandez, siblings Dora Hernandez, Frances Hernandez, Gilbert Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Leticia Diaz, Abelardo Diaz and several nieces and nephews.
John attended Moss Elementary, Goliad Middle School and Big Spring HS Class of 1987. He played Varsity Football for the Steers and sang in Rhapsody and Meistersingers. John served 10 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy; Operation Desert Storm Veteran.
John worked for Wal-Mart in Big Spring, Texas; FMC Houston, Texas; Andergauge Houston, Texas; Vetco Gray Inc. GE Oil & Gas Houston, Texas.
John was an active member at Colonial Baptist Church Virginia Beach, Va. and Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Champion Forest Baptist Church – Chapel, 15555 Stuebner Airline, Houston, Texas 77069. A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Champion Forest Baptist Church - Family Life Center with burial to follow at Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, you may gift the Hernandez family; you can make all gifts out to Luisa Hernandez or an organization of your choice.
If you have served in any public capacity, (i.e. military, law enforcement, first responders, etc), Luisa would be honored if you would wear your uniform. The children would like everyone to wear joyful colors to the celebration of their father's life.
