Jose Olague Ortega Jr. "Pico," 64, of Big Spring, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.|
A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Pico was born October 10, 1950, in Big Spring and married Irma Landin July 24, 1971. He worked for 27 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a repairman. He was a gentle man with a loving and generous heart. He loved to kid around and loved his family.
Jose is survived by his wife, Irma Ortega of Big Spring; one daughter, Rachel Ortega; four sons, Roman Ortega, Rocky Ortega and wife, Corina, Randy Ortega, and Roy Ortega and wife, Susie; grandchildren, Dylan, Marissa, Alejandro Lopez, Isaiah Clemons, Rocky Ortega Jr., Giavanna, Alejandra, Andrew and Elizabeth; three brothers, Sammy Ortega and wife, Irma, Rudy Ortega and wife, Maria, Carlos Ortega and wife, Rachel; and one sister, Mary Puga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Mendoza and Paula Olague Ortega; three brothers, Johnny, Raymond, and Albert Ortega; and two sisters, Dorothy and Leticia Ortega.
