Joshua Charles "Chow" Preston, 40, of Big Spring passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at Midland Memorial Hospital. A vigil will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. |
He was born April 2, 1976, to Kathy Joachims Salazar and Charles Preston in Woodward, Okla. He married Yvette Cortez Preston Dec. 11, 1999 in Big Spring, Texas. Josh worked to receive his bachelor's degree and his master's degree to become the director of activity therapy at Big Spring State Hospital. He loved time spent with family and friends, listening to music and riding his Harley.
Josh is survived by his wife of 16 years, Yvette Preston; two sons, Amando Cortez of Groton, Conn. and Iain Preston of Big Spring; one daughter, Evelyn Preston of Big Spring; his parents, Kathy and Bonefacio Salazar of Big Spring and Merrie Preston of Norman, Okla.; two brothers, Aron Salazar of Midland and Jimmy Cox of Lubbock; and one sister, Tiffany Bora of Guthrie, Okla.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Charles Preston.
Pallbearers will be Mike Reyes, Keith Monger, Manuel Marquez Jr., David Cole, Edward Mendez and Chris Viasana. Honorary pallbearers will be Aron Salazar and Jim Cox.
