Lida Frances Mason, 86, of Kemah, Texas, formerly of Sand Springs, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, in a Webster, Texas, hospital. |
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring with the Rev. Raul Garcia, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Coahoma, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Roxton, Texas, and married Burnis Lee Mason April 4, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death April 12, 2005.
Frances was a longtime resident of Sand Springs and moved to Kemah in April of 2005. She was a homemaker, wife and mother, and loved shopping, jewelry and traveling. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Coahoma.
Survivors include one son, Melvin Mason and wife Debbie of League City; one grandson, Jeffrey Mason and wife Melissa of Clear Lake City; a great-granddaughter, Harper Kennedy Mason; two sisters-in-law, Lyn Nell Ray of Big Spring and Lee Ida Rainey of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Fannie Johnson; one sister; and two brothers.
