Lillian Greenfield, 75, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel, with Greg Surles of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.?|
She was born February 25, 1941 in Sweetwater, Texas to Lilly Lee (McReynolds) Montgomery and John Calvin Montgomery. She married Billy Greenfield in Austin, Texas and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2001. She has been a resident of Howard County for over sixty years. Lillian loved horses and began riding horses at the age of two. She and her daughter were avid barrel racers for many years. After graduating from high school, Lillian attended cosmetology school in Lubbock and started her working career as a beautician. She worked as a pre-school teacher at Berea Baptist Child Care and later owned her own licensed child care center in her home for almost thirty years. She loved all of kiddos like her own. She was a member of Birdwell Lane Church of Christ. ?Lillian is survived by her best friend: Kenny Thompson of Big Spring; one daughter: Gaylene Hodnett and her husband Darrell of Vincent; one son: Scott Greenfield of Big Spring; two grandsons: Jacob Lawson of Alabama and Deston Scroggins of Florida; one sister: Frances Cupp of Sweetwater and one brother: Mac Montgomery and wife Zelma of Enchanted Oaks.?
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Angela Greenfield; one brother: Clemon Montgomery and one brother in law: Charles Cupp.?
Pallbearers will be Lee Montgomery, Jim Kelley, Darrell Hodnett, Deston Scroggins, Bruce Griffith, Robert Reagan, Tanner Kelley, Paxton Kelley, and Ronald L. Allen. ?In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials or donations be made to the
