On Wednesday, June 8, 2016, a gentle wind blew across the land and gently took a hand. For on these winds, the angels called out the name of our Mom, Grandma and Sister – Linda Mae Reid. |
Linda, 71, of Forney, Texas, passed away at Plano Presbyterian Hospital, with her family at her side.
Linda was the daughter of Jean and Jolette Rogers. She was born June 17, 1944, in Monahans, Texas. She was a 1962 graduate of Coahoma High School. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Billy Carl Reid, in 1964. After celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2014, Billy Carl passed away on March 30 of that same year.
Linda is survived by sons Eric Reid and daughter-in-law Latesha of Irving, Texas, Devin Reid and daughter-in-law Shauna of Lucas, Texas; and "Grandma's" grandchildren, Elise and Landon Reid of Lucas.
Other survivors include a sister, Jolene Rutledge and son-in-law Drexel of Burleson, Texas; a brother, Bobby Rogers and sister-in-law Melodye of Robson Ranch, Texas; her father-in-law, Carl Dale Reid of Coahoma; her brothers-in-law and their wives, Phillip and Shyrlee Reid of Coahoma, Mike and Linda Reid of Coahoma, Donald and Delinda Reid of Coahoma, and Royce and Paula Reid of Liberty Hills, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Billy Carl; son Kyle; mother Jean Rogers; and father Jolette Rogers.
Linda was a Wife, Mom, Grandma, Daughter, and Sister with a heart so true and tender. She devoted her life to those she loved–a life well spent. And now to God, Linda's journey is on angel's wings on a heavenly flight towards the light. We weep for her life that is gone but in God's love, "tis but the dawn".
Pallbearers are Jared Eaken of Keller, Texas; Richard Eaken of Keller; Bryan Pittman of Burleson; Stephen Rogers of Robson Ranch, Texas; Bobby Rogers of Robson Ranch and Drexel Rutledge of Burleson.
