Mary Dodd, 91, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at her residence. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Noxville Cemetery in Harper, Texas.|
She was born June 6, 1923 to Susie (Coffey) and David "Dee" Whetstone in Harper, Texas. She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1962 coming from Midland. She was a cook for Howard College and Webb Air Force Base. She was also a homecare provider. She loved being outside and doing yardwork and loved to travel. She was always quick to help anyone in need and was a Baptist.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Terri Behrens and husband, John McKinley, of Overland Park, Kan., Richard Oringderff of Houston and Brook Hanson and husband, Adam, also of Houston; seven great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Orvel "Red" Oringderff of Big Spring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordia Dodd, in 1987, two daughters, Donnie Oringderff in 2005 and Susan "Susie" Dodd, in 2008 and her son, Jon Dodd, in 1998.
