Mary Longan Federman, 86, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.|
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born June 19, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas and married Robert Federman July 8, 1989, in Big Spring, Texas.
Mary was a professor emeritus at Howard College, where she taught American history and sociology. She was in charge of the humanities division. Mary was a wonderful wife in every way. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, church and cats. Her spunky and fun personality would light up the room and bring a smile to anyone. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Federman; one daughter, Diane Vick and husband, Gregory; three grandchildren, Amanda Vick, Nathan Vick and Hilary Crowell; two great-grandchildren; three step-sons. Richard Federmann, Robert Federman Jr. and Mark Federman; and a step-daughter, Sherrie Coultrip.
