Mary Lou Rangel, 76, of Big Spring died Tuesday, September 8, 2015, in El Paso. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.|
Mary Lou was born January 20, 1939, in Big Spring. She grew up in El Paso and came to Big Spring in 1967.
Mary Lou and Willie Rangel were married on December 28, 1967, in Big Spring. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Mary Lou loved music, especially singing and dancing. She also loved cooking, soap operas, family and friends. Mary Lou was a fun-loving person, and was very close to God, and very deep in her faith.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Willie Rangel of Big Spring; three daughters, Diana Alarcon of Big Spring, Debbie Fierro and her husband, Moses, of San Antonio, and Sandra Lou Martinez and her husband, Oswaldo, of Big Spring; one son, Ernest R. Alarcon of Kyle; mother, Herlinda Knight of El Paso; two sisters, Virginia Duran and her husband, Tommy, of El Paso and Mary Frances Hinojosa and her husband, Andy, of El Paso; two brothers, Salvador Knight and his wife, Regina, of El Paso and Jacob Knight Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father: Jacob Knight.
Pallbearers will be Michael Martinez, Edward Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Jonathan Jay Rodriguez, Juan Montelongo, Ehomas DiMasc, Mario Hernandez and Tim Rangel.
