The Rev. Monroe Teeters, 89, of Big Spring, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with his son, the Rev. Dennis Teeters, and the Rev. Elwin Collom officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.|
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Roscoe, Texas and married Snowie Mae Bratcher March 8, 1946, in Lynn County, Texas.
Monroe served as a pastor for over 73 years in the West Texas and Panhandle areas. His ministry was his life.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Cheatham and husband, Larry Cheatham, of Benbrook; one son, Dennis Teeters and wife, Susie, of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Brian Huddleston and wife, Lauren, Erik Huddleston and wife, Deanndra, Bethany Dow and husband, Robert, Caleb Teeters and wife, Staci, Summer Matlock and husband, Michael, and Nathan Teeters and wife, Kimmy; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2000 W. FM 700, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
