Pat DeAnda, 68, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 1, 2016. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.|
She was born April 14, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas and married Ismael DeAnda Jan. 29, 1966 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1992.
Pat graduated from Sul Ross University in 1975 with her Bachelor's Degree and was a longtime educator in the Big Spring Independent School District, retiring in 2010. She was part of the first charter of LULAC and was currently serving as district director. Pat also had served on the Big Spring City Council and on the school board for Big Spring ISD.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon DeAnda and Michelle DeAnda both of Big Spring and Margaret "Peggy" DeAnda of Austin; two grandchildren, Ross DeAnda and Mariah DeAnda; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don Arroyo of Big Spring, and Richard Marquez of Bethesda, Md.; and one sister, Valerie Alva of Slaton.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ascension Marquez and Margaret Marie Luna; and a sister, Monica Urias.
