Shirley Lee Parker, 70, of Big Spring, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.|
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, at the funeral home.
Shirley was born Jan. 18, 1945 in Kossee and moved to Big Spring in 1959. She met and married J. D. Parker. He preceded her in death June 21, 2012.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a very hard worker. She was a supervisor of environmental services at the Big Spring State Hospital, where she retired after 41 years. Shirley enjoyed playing and winning at bingo. She also enjoyed going fishing when the opportunity presented itself.
Shirley leaves to celebrate her life one daughter, Tracy Parker; three sons, Pernell Parker Sr., Sidney Parker Sr. and Michael Parker, all of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Lacyndra Lee, Deuntrey Parker, Bianca Parker, Sidney Parker Jr., Pernell Parker II, Jaycob Parker and Michael Parker Jr.; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Georgia Jones, Igentry Bradley and Ruth Knecht, all of Midland; one brother, Robert Lee Jackson of Winnipeg, Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Rosie Lee (Graves) Jackson; and one brother, Charles Moore.
