Wilma Dorsey, 77 of Big Spring passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 in a Lubbock hospital. The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel with Brother Randy Cotton of Trinity Baptist Church officiating.|
She was born June 25, 1938, in Lamesa, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She married Grady Dorsey Jr. Jan. 7, 1957. He preceded her in death June 7, 1992. She made a career as a substitute teacher for many years at Coahoma ISD. She later worked for Weatherford in Coahoma for more than 20 years and just recently retired in February of this year. The highlight of her life was her yearly trip she would take with her kids and grandkids to Ruidoso to the horse races. Wilma was a die-hard Cowboys fan and never missed watching the games on TV.
She is survived by two daughters, Traci Kendrick and husband, Termite of Big Spring, Cristi Anderson and husband, Jimmy of LaVernia; five grandchildren, Tessa Kendrick, Treagan Kendrick, Payton Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Toryn Kendrick; her favorite four legged friend, Sparkles; two nephews, Danny Hart and Barry Hart; one brother in law, Bill Hart; and her best friend of 70 years, Shirley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Audie Cole; her father, Clint Bradford and her stepfather, Esmer Cole; one sister, Peggy Hart; and one nephew, Larry Hart.
Pallbearers will be Termite Kendrick, Jimmy Anderson, Treagan Kendrick, Taylor Anderson, Abel Lopez, and Bill Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Toryn Kendrick, Bill Hart, Barry hart and Danny Hart.
